Injuries at work happen. Unlike the common sports injury, when you’re injured on the job in NY and NJ, you are required to go through extensive paperwork in order to make sure your medical care is covered through your employer’s compensation insurance – not your private health insurance.
In most cases, your private health insurance will not pay for a work-related accident. Because of this, there are certain steps you must follow when you are injured at work and need medical care:
1. Inform your employer. An employer will accept your claim within 30 days of your injury.
